Not exactly a chichi resort, 32 mile long Galveston
Island offers the gay traveler a bit of that honky-tonk beach town feel.
Located about 45 minutes from Houston this town might seem tacky to
some, and a campy slice of Americana to others. Most, however, end up
having a good time. Plenty of shopping, great seafood and a laid-back
party atmosphere. Lots of sun and surf. The island itself is more
straight than gay but there are plenty of gay-friendly facilities.
