The Bathhouse Business Q&A

Overview: On your webmaster's trip to Paris I made a point to visit all the different saunas I could. I managed to see almost all of them. There were a couple I did not visit simply because I could not find the address or because I could not find the entrance once the address was found. The saunas in Paris are much nicer than those in London. There were only a couple of stinkers like Til't. The standouts in my mind are Gym Louvre [#1 for me], Sun City, Le Riad and Univers Gym.

None of the saunas in Paris are open 24 hours. The majority open at noon and the rest at 2:00 or 3:00 pm. None of them have rooms that can be rented exclusively like in the USA. Everyone is given a locker and then all of the rooms are open to everyone. Sometimes they even have a lube dispenser right in the room, saving you from having to lug your own bottle around. I have grown to prefer the "open room" concept since it makes the place much more cruisy with guys constantly switching places.

This website also has more info about the sauna scene in Paris. On the home page click on "Listings" and then click on "Saunas." The website has an "English" button [click on the flag].

Also Paris has dozens of "cruise bars" with private cabins and backroom labyrinths. Too many to list here.
